AsciLab C8C/BX8C active cardioid.
AsciLab's new active cardioid loudspeaker the C8C and its dedicated sub-bass module the BX8C.
Acoustic Science Laboratory ( AsciLab) are a recently established loudspeaker manufacturer based in Seoul, Korea.
AsciLAB maybe new but their designers Jinsung Ko and Changyeul Park have twenty years experience in the field of acoustics and loudspeaker design.
All of AsciLAB's speakers are developed using the very latest Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Klippel's NFS ( Near Field Scanner).
Their goal was to design the finest measuring and thus most transparent loudspeakers possible, they have succeeded.
C8C
Design :Three-way active cardioid loudspeaker,
Bass configuration : sealed box,
Comprising :-
Two 6" aluminium-ceramic woofers
Two 8" high excursion aluminium cone subwoofers
One 1" Aluminium cone dome tweeter.
Main Features :-
The C8C is the best measuring Cardioid loudspeaker currently availble.
The C8C in fact is the finest measuring loudspeaker of any design currently available.
Pair it with its matching BX8C sub-module for completely full-range sound and extend the speaker's cardioid response down to 40Hz.
AsciLab C8C preorder pricing £4500 per pair inc vat and delivery, after the pre-order period price will increase to £5k per pair inc vat and delivery, that is for the 'standard' matt black and matt white finishes.
BX8C :- £5000 per pair inc vat rising to £5500 per pair inc vat ( standard colours ) after December 31st.
AsciLab have just published the combined measurements for the C8C and BX8C combination.
Scroll to discover :-
The C8C will have a matching active sub module the BX8C.
Utilising 4 x 8" high excursion subwoofers, the BX8C/C8C are then a completely full-range system, the cardioid response being extended down to 40Hz.
The C8C/BX8C will not only measure better than Kii's 3/BXT combination but it will be less than half the price!
AsciLab have optimised both the C8C's wave guide and Cohehrer (phase plug), using FEA, finite element analysis to achieve continuous directivity.
The deep waveguide ensures outstanding constant directivity and precise dispersion.
The phase plug/coherer has been refined through countless simulations and hundreds of prototypes to ensure seamless directivity.
The C8C will be one of if not the finest measuring loudspeaker currently available, and thus the most transparent.
What the measurements on this page show is that the C8C is the most transparent loudspeaker currently available with the lowest distortion, even when playing at 96dB which is LOUD!
The results of thousands of hours of measurement AsciLab has produced the most transparent loudspeakers currently available.
Erin's Audio Corner reviewed/measured the C6B ( aluminium-ceramic drivers) his review can be found here,
https://www.erinsaudiocorner.com/loudspeakers/ascilab_c6b/
Amir at Audio Science Review, measured both the F6B and F6B/S, both Erin and Amir own the Klippel NFS that AsciLAB use to design their loudspeakers.
Amir also reviewd thw F6B/S sealed enclosure variant,

Phil Ward has also reviewed/measured AsciLab's A6B for 'SoundonSound' magazine, the review will be published presently.
Phil Ward of 'SoundonSound' magazine has recently reviewed and measured AsciLab's A6B Purifi based design, his review should be published shortly.
I believe he liked it!
Pictured right the final C8C protoypes on top the main speaker (C8C) and underneath the BX8C sub module which uses four long throw 8 subwoofers two in front and two behind.
Whether used on their own or with their BX8C sub modules the speakers are absolutely state of the art.
AcsiLab have just published the combined measurements of the C8C main speaker (£5k per pair inc vat and delivery ) and its soon to be released dedicated sub module the BX8C, price of which is yet to be confirmed but approximately £6k again including vat and delivery.
AsciLab always publish every single measurement their whole raison d'etre is to create the finest measuring and thus most transparent loudspeaker available, they have succeeded.
The C8C/BX8C measurements position the speaker as the new reference in cardioid loudspeaker design.
Better than anything else currently available at any price.
The BX8C is a dedicated active sub-bass module for the C8C main speaker, you can use the C8C on their own or with the BX8C, utilising 4 x8" long throw subwoofers the BX8C not only extends the bass extension but takes its cardioid response down to 40Hz which is unparalled.
What does this mean for you, simply clearer sound, less rear and side propagation allows you to hear more direct sound, you will enjoy hearing everything, from the deepest 20Hz bass upwards with a unprecedented clarity.
When one considers the price of the combination approximately £11-12k ( concrete pricing will follow) that is unbelievable value.
AsciLab are laying waste to the traditional loudspeaker market, in every sense true disruptors.

Acoustic Science Laboratory loudspeakers of Seoul, Korea, redefining not only the current state of the art but delivering that quality at a reasonable price.
AsciLab's C8C will be available towards the end of January, price per pair will be $5400.00, I will post UK pricing which will be strictly in line with the AsciLab site.
AsciLab prepared a 'roadmap' of future planned releases.

There is so much hype and BS in the Hi-Fi industry it is a joy to discover a range of products that not only live up to expectations but exceed them.
Jinsung and Changyeul are as transparent as their designs, every measurement for every speaker is published every design decision is explained and corroborated by measurement.
They are simply the best loudspeakers I have heard, at any price.
Purité Audio will stock the entire AsciLab range as they are released.
You can audition them here or we will send loudspeakers to you so you can evaluate them in your own space, directly against your current system which is by far the most valid method of comparison.
AsciLabs C8C, the new reference in loudspeaker design.
AsciLab have announced 'pre-order' pricing for the C8C/BX8C.
C8C, £4500 per pair inc vat and delivery per pair.
BX8C dedicated sub-modules are £5000 per pair inc vat and delivery during the pre-order period which runs until the 31st December 2025.
That is for the standard matt black and matt white finishes.
In the New year prices will rise slightly, a pair of C8C's to £5000.00 per pair which includes vat and delivery, and the BX8C to £5500 per pair again including vat and delivery.
